Hello. I am Kenneth Robertson, the Wastewater Program Coordinator for the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy. I’m pleased to bring you our new 2025 Wastewater Training Schedule because we must treat our wastewater to maintain quality waters for wildlife and recreation and a safe drinking water supply for everyone’s future. We look forward to helping you to advance that purpose.

 I would be glad to assist you in finding the method of training best suited for you. We offer classes via the internet, Zoom, and in several classrooms around the state.

SEEK - Wastewater Operator Licensing Program 

The Division of Environmental – Office of Water Quality is pleased to announce that Wastewater Licensing is moving to our new data management system, SEEK (https://seek.ee.arkansas.gov/) the week of March 24, 2025. Helpful videos on how to use SEEK are available at Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment YouTube page. The two videos linked below will help you get started in SEEK.

Create a SEEK Account

Obtaining Electronic Signature in SEEK

All wastewater applications, training hours, renewals, and information updates will be completed in SEEK. We will not accept ePortal submissions after Thursday, March 20, 2025. Any applications already submitted in ePortal will be completed in ePortal or transferred to SEEK.

 SEEK User Accounts:

If you set up an account in ePortal prior to January 8, 2024, then your account has been migrated to SEEK. You will need to use the “Forgot Password?” link on the “Sign In” page to reset your password. If you did not have an ePortal account prior to January 8, 2024, then you will need to register in the SEEK system using the “Create an account” button on the SEEK home page.

E-signature for SEEK:

If you obtained e-signature approval in the ePortal system prior to January 8, 2024, then your e-signature has been migrated to SEEK. If you did not have e-signature approval in the ePortal system prior to January 8, 2024, then you will need to apply for e-signature in the SEEK system, see the video above.

 Sites in SEEK:

Each licensed operator will be associated with a unique site in SEEK. If DEQ was able to link your wastewater license(s) to your email, you will receive an invitation to your site the week of March 24, 2025. The email will come from Arkansas E&E SEEK. Once you sign into the SEEK system using the email address on the invitation, you will be connected to your site within SEEK.

Starting Forms in SEEK: 

  • If DEQ was able to link your wastewater licenses to your email, then you are able to renew your license(s), update your information, or submit training hours for your wastewater license by selecting “Start a New Form” → ”I want to renew, modify or terminate an existing permit, license or registration” → “Wastewater Renewal” or “Wastewater Operator Training Hours”.
  • If DEQ was NOT able to link your wastewater license(s) to your email, you will need to contact the Wastewater Licensing Section by email at ee.wwl@arkansas.gov. DEQ will reach out and assist you in getting your SEEK Site connect to your email or you can come by our booth at the AWW&WEA Conference.
  • To start a new application for an exam, reciprocity, or apprentice, select “Start a New Form” → ”I want to start a new application” → “Wastewater License”.

 Old Submissions in ePortal:

If you want a copy of your old submissions from ePortal, you will need to download them manually using the “My Submissions” button in the top menu bar after signing into ePortal. Minimal data from the ePortal system was migrated to SEEK.

ACCREDITATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

Wastewater training provided by the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy is accredited by:

  • The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment; DEQ, Office of Water Quality
  • Arkansas Wastewater Licensing Committee

LICENSING EXAM INFORMATION

Wastewater licensing exam applications and testing fees must be submitted to DEQ through the ePortal (5) business days prior to test date. DEQ Testing fees are in addition to any training fees and must be paid directly to DEQ Wastewater Licensing.

  • To ensure testing eligibility, applications and fees must be received by DEQ prior to the exam.
