The LRC provides students access to research materials, fiction and non-fiction, internet access, and online database access. The library is open Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Access World News - Newsbank

This Newsbank database offers unlimited, web-based access to more than 1,500 U.S. Newspapers including the Camden News, El Dorado News Times and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (with backfiles from 1994 to the present). Newsbank provides not only newspaper information, but also essential domestic and international newswires, news video clips, transcripts (e.g. ABC – KATV), business journals, popular periodicals, government documents, and other publications from around the globe.

This is the quintessential accountant's database. PQ African American Heritage*

Search essential historical records for African Americans, including Federal Census, Marriage and Cohabitation Records, Military Draft and Service Records, Registers of Slaves and Free(d) Persons of Color, Freedman’s Bank, and more. This is a bibliographic database that is produced by the National Agricultural Library which consists of worldwide literature citations for journal articles, monographs, proceedings, theses, patents, translations, audiovisual materials, computer software, and technical reports pertaining to all aspects of agriculture and related fields. Since 1985, the CAB Thesaurus has been used to select controlled vocabulary terms for subject indexing. Library of Congress Subject Headings are used as controlled vocabulary for cataloging records. Powered by this database provides tools to find ancestors in the complete set of U.S. Federal Census from 1790-1940, including name indexes for many years. Search Books to locate information on people and places described in over 28,000 family and local history books and search revolutionary war records from the Revolutionary War Era Pension & Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files as well as search the Freedman’s Bank for individuals in the Freedman’s Bank (1865-1874) which was founded to serve African Americans.

Learning Express Library*

Learning Express Library has 8 skills centers. The School Center for grade levels four and above where students prepare for important tests, get extra help with academic basics, and boost their skills in reading, writing, and math with the resources in this center. All resources in the School Center are aligned to “Common Core” standards. The College Center has College preparation materials to succeed on college admission tests such as the SAT and ACT and provides help in writing effective personal essays. High School Equivalency Center helps individuals prepare for their GED test credential. Features include: practice tests, interactive tutorials, and eBooks to help students study and prepare for passing the GED. Adult Learning Center offers adults the resources to improve their basic skills in math, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar and prepare for a U.S. Citizenship test. Career Center is where individuals preparing for a professional occupational exam would begin test preparation for the WorkKeys Assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. Recursos Para Hispanohablantes (Spanish Center) offer spanish-speaking adults the resources needed to improve their basic skills, prepare for a GED credential or other high school equivalency exams, or help on preparing to become a U.S. citizen. Computer Skills Center includes Basics on Computers and the Internet and popular software. Job & Career Accelerator Center provides powerful tools and expert guidance to help you prepare and find that great job.
