Mechanical Maintenance
Southern Arkansas University Tech's Mechanical Maintenance program prepares students for this rapidly changing field as the industry makes high-tech changes to production. The Mechanical Maintenance Technology program was developed in partnership between SAU Tech and maintenance professionals from local area industries to address changes in the industry. This program prepares the student for entry into the general industrial maintenance field. Courses provide skills in basic electrical circuits, electric motor controls, machining, welding, fluid power, welding, maintenance management, predictive maintenance, quality control, and production planning. Most courses involve hands-on experience with up-to-date, high-technology equipment found in current manufacturing operations. As part of the curriculum, students have the opportunity to receive OSHA, Forklift, and NCCER Core certifications recognized world-wide by potential employers.
