Stormy Taylor to Speak At black History Celebration
Stormy Taylor is a #1 rated on-air talent at iHeart Radio Memphis, broadcasting on KJMS and the first black-programmed radio station in America, the Legendary WDIA. She is also the host of a weekly talk show on Memphis’ top-rated stations—V101, K97, WDIA, and Hallelujah FM. She can be heard on V101.1 FM Sunday through Friday (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) and on WDIA weekdays (10 a.m.–3 p.m.). A 35-year radio veteran (1989–2025), Stormy was born in Magnolia, Arkansas, where she attended Walker High School and later studied at Southern Arkansas University. Her broadcasting journey began at SAU’s campus station, KSAU, leading to her first commercial radio role at Power 92 FM in Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by positions at KRNB in Dallas, Texas, the Oasis Jazz Radio Station, and the “Touch” ABC Radio Network.
In Dallas, Stormy became a member of the Potter’s House, volunteering in its television department and appearing on Bishop T.D. Jakes’s TV program, The Potter’s Touch. She also served as a volunteer and speaker for First Lady Serita Jakes’s God’s Leading Lady. Now based in Memphis, Stormy is an entrepreneur—owning Stormy Taylor LLC, an entertainment company, and Gins World Boutique in Memphis. She is also a brand ambassador, digital creator and manager, and a sought-after host and public speaker.
A devoted family woman, Stormy is the proud mother of two married children and grandmother of five. Her dedication to community and broadcasting includes hosting iHeartRadio’s “Hey Auntie” and “The Pulse” podcasts, as well as having worked alongside notable celebrities such as Kirk Franklin, Cheryl Underwood, the late R&B
Singer Vesta Williams, plus legendary DJs like Tom Joyner, Bobby O’Jay, Mike Evans, Stan Bell, Skip Murphy, Joe Soto, Greg Street, and others. She has also studied acting and television performance, taking the stage for live shows in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and in Arkansas.
Throughout her illustrious career, Stormy has garnered numerous accolades, including being honored as a Living Legend in 2020 by the National Living Legends Foundation, receiving the Diva Award of Excellence from the Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee, being recognized as a Power 30 in Memphis by Curtis Given and CGI Entertainment, and receiving recognition during Women’s History Month in 2023 from the Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to name a few.
