SAU Tech is proud to announce the development of a Defense Manufacturing Center of Excellence—a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense workforce training.
This transformative project will establish SAU Tech as a regional leader in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals for high-demand careers in manufacturing and defense industries.
The Vision for the Center of Excellence
Our Center of Excellence will feature a 50,000 square foot training facility equipped with cutting-edge technology and hands-on learning environments, including:
- Robotics Lab – Training in automated systems and robotic integration
- CNC Machining Lab – Precision manufacturing and computer numerical control
- PLC Lab – Programmable logic controller programming and industrial automation
- Welding Lab – Advanced welding techniques and certifications
- Metrology Lab – High-precision measurement and training; this will be the only lab of its kind at a community college in Arkansas
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Lab – Specialized inspection and testing training; this will be the only NDT lab in the state
- Advanced Manufacturing Spaces – Industry-aligned technology and equipment
- Conference Center – Community and industry training events
This facility will serve students, industry partners, and the broader community, creating a hub for innovation, collaboration, and workforce development.
Progress & Path Forward
Overview:
SAU Tech is building a Center of Excellence focused on advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense. We have secured $15 Million for construction and $5 Million for equipment. This project is moving forward.
Our Goal:
We are raising $5 Million to complete the project and ensure long-term sustainability.
Funds will be used for:
Complete a 50,000 square foot training facility. Build labs for robotics, PLC, CNC, welding, and advanced manufacturing. Provide space for industry training and community events. Support long-term equipment upgrades.
Sustainability:
Technology changes quickly in this field. This effort ensures we can replace equipment, upgrade technology, and stay aligned with workforce needs.
