It is with a heavy heart that Southern Arkansas University Tech learned of the loss of one of its own this morning, Nursing student Ashley French. The Dean of Allied Health, Mrs. Shelly Young, had this to say about the horrible tragedy:

"Today has been one of those days you are never prepared for, nor will you ever be prepared for. This morning, our SAU Tech LPN/Paramedic to RN Program lost one of our students due to a car wreck. Ashley French was driving from her home in Magnolia on her way to campus when the wreck occurred. Ashley was a 2021-2022 graduate of our PN Program and was so excited to be a part of our current RN program. Please be in prayer for Ashley's family, especially her two children as well as our Tech family. Several of our students drive from Magnolia and saw the wreck this morning. The students along with faculty are all very devastated. Ashley will be remembered for her kind heart and huge smile!"
