Sherry Jackson Cooper is August's Betty J. Lewis Unsung Hero!

Sherry Jackson Cooper is from Dothan, Alabama. She has been married for forty-seven years to Dr. Reginald Cooper. She is a mother of two sons and has a granddaughter. Before retiring after thirty-three years from the Camden Post Office, she was the first African American District Vice President for the Arkansas Postal Workers Union (APWU). She also became the first African American president of a labor union in Camden. Sherry has been a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for forty-two years. She is a charter member of the Sigma Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a lifetime member as well.
